LC Electrical Services was contracted by the developer of a large student accommodation complex at St James' Terrace, in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne, to deliver extensive electrical installations across the building.

The challenge

The client needed extensive electrical installations across a multi-unit residential building, covering lighting, data connectivity, life safety systems and power to individual units and communal areas. A building of this scale, with multiple student units plus shared communal spaces, required careful planning to deliver consistent, energy-efficient lighting and reliable data points throughout, while integrating fire alarm and emergency lighting systems to prioritise resident safety.

What we did

Our team installed energy-efficient lighting systems throughout the premises, set up data points for seamless connectivity, and integrated fire alarm systems to BS 5839 and emergency lighting systems to BS 5266. We also installed bespoke power solutions tailored to modern student living, ensuring every unit and communal area was fully equipped. All commercial electrical installation work was completed to BS 7671, with comprehensive testing and certification throughout.

Outcome
