Warehouse & Industrial LED Lighting

LED high bay lighting, controls and emergency lighting for warehouses, factories and distribution units across the North East.

Industrial lighting suspended from steel roof beams in a commercial building

Warehouse and factory lighting runs for long hours over large floor areas, which makes it one of the biggest electricity costs on many industrial sites. Older high bay fittings are slow to start, lose output as they age and need lamps replacing at height. LC Electrical Services replaces them with modern LED high bay lighting for warehouses, distribution units, workshops and factories across South Tyneside and the wider North East.

LED high bays use considerably less energy than the metal halide and fluorescent fittings found in many older units, they start instantly at full brightness, and they last far longer, which removes most of the cost and disruption of working at height to change lamps. Better colour and more even light also make it easier to read labels, pick accurately and spot hazards on the floor.

Controls are where the biggest further savings come from. Presence detection dims or switches off lighting in aisles and areas nobody is using, daylight sensors reduce output near roof lights and open doors, and zoning lets you light only the parts of the building in use on a quieter shift. We design controls around how your site actually works rather than fitting the same settings everywhere.

Every warehouse is different, so every project starts with a free site survey. We look at mounting heights, racking layout, aisle widths, the tasks carried out in each area, loading bays and external yards, and the condition of the existing wiring and containment. From that we produce a lighting layout and an itemised, fixed price quotation, so you can see what will change and what it will cost before agreeing to anything.

Installation is planned around your operation. We work with your team to agree phased areas, coordinate with forklift and pedestrian movement, and use mobile elevating work platforms with proper exclusion zones. Much of the work can be done out of hours, at weekends or during planned shutdowns, so picking and production carry on.

A lighting upgrade is also the right time to look at emergency lighting. Large open warehouse floors need open area emergency lighting, and racking aisles, loading bays and high risk task areas each have their own requirements under BS 5266-1. Many LED high bays can be supplied with integral emergency modules, and we design the emergency scheme alongside the main lighting so both are compliant from day one.

On industrial sites the lighting often shares distribution with heavy machinery and three phase loads. We check the boards and circuits feeding the lighting as part of the survey, and where something needs attention we tell you and price it separately rather than leaving it hidden. All work is certified to BS 7671 by engineers from a NAPIT registered business using UKAS calibrated test equipment.

Once the new lighting is in, we hand over certification, as fitted information for the luminaires and controls, and guidance on adjusting control settings. We can look after the system afterwards through a planned maintenance contract, covering emergency lighting tests and periodic electrical testing across the site.
